Don't Forget

We actually bought this chalkboard from Next a few months back but only got around to hanging it up recently. I'd been looking for something like this for a while, somewhere we can keep notes and write little messages to each other. If I'm honest it's mostly me who uses it, and almost exclusively to write creepy cutesy notes. But hey, that's okay.

The finish on the chalkboard is OK - using chalk has left some scratches, but it isn't a premium product so I wouldn't expect it to look sparkling new when it has been used a fair few times. We've switched to a chalk marker and, although it was a little pricey, it was worth it. I wish these were less expensive as it would be nice to own more colours. There's a handy shelf for storing your chalk (or chalk marker, which I definitely recommend) and four relatively sturdy hooks. Pretty sure these are for your keys - but ours are usually AWOL - so right now we're hanging a thermometer there because we really don't have enough of those in this room (there are four).

The chalkboard is no longer for sale at Next, but they do have a Weekly Planner (£40) if that's your kind of thing. If you're looking for something similar, I spotted this beautiful Personalised Family Home Chalkboard (£15) on Notonthehighstreet.com. The chalk marker is by Pentel.
